How we started?

Our story begins over a century ago with Mr. Nazeer Hussain, a master artist of the Indian subcontinent. So admired was his talent that even the Queen of Great Britain honored him for his exquisite painting. His work was not just art. it was diplomacy, it was dignity, it was soul on canvas. The Queen’s admiration went so deep that she invited the entire family to Britain as a mark of royal respect.

Back in India, the family ran prestigious photography and portrait studios frequented by nawabs, bureaucrats, and officials alike. Art wasn’t a skill in this family. It was a birthright.From this rich artistic lineage emerged Wahid Mehmood in 1955. A man who carried that sacred flame forward. He blended artistic vision with functionality, creating wooden and brass lamps, vintage light fixtures and intricate decor that drew admiration across Pakistan. His genius attracted the attention of five star hotel chains like Intercontinental, Sheraton, Avari and Holiday Inn, where he served as a design consultant, infusing spaces with timeless grace and heritage. While he never sought fame or material wealth, his name lived quietly in the hearts of fellow artisans, collectors and connoisseurs. But his most meaningful creation came in the 1970s. A design inspired by nature’s miracle: the leaf. God made a seed. We plant it. From it grows the leaf giver of shade of breath of life.

Thus was born the Brass Leaf Planter. A masterpiece of craftsmanship, symbolism and soul. In just months, this design soared in demand. Factories ran at full capacity. Markets buzzed with excitement. But time as always shifted. Political and economic instability forced Mr. Wahid Mehmood to scale down production. He returned to quiet consultancy, choosing art over acclaim. Now, at the age of 82, his passion remains undimmed. With Vero Cielo, we honor his legacy and breathe life into his timeless creations once again. Carefully preserved Brass Leaf Planters from 30+ years ago are now being restored, revived and reborn for the world. Each piece carries the story of a family, a tradition and a belief that:

Decades later, two well wishers Mr. Faisal and Mr. Adeel stepped forward with a shared mission:

Together, they founded Vero Cielo a brand that brings back handmade brass masterpieces, some crafted and preserved over 30 years ago, restored with care and love.
